UGC – University Grant Commission – Any and every university MUST be recognized or approved by UGC. Link : http://www.ugc.ac.in

University : There are 4 types of universities in India

(1) Central University, funded and fully operated by Central Govt, e.g. (a) Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, Maharashtra (b) JNU, Delhi etc.

(2) State University, funded and operated by respective state Govt, e.g. (a) Mumbai University, Maharashtra (b) Allahabad University, UP etc.

(3) Deemed University or Deemed to be University, partially funded & operated by Govt, e.g. JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Udaipur, Rajasthan,

(4) Private University, self funded and operated, e.g. (a) Swami Vivekanand University, Sagar, MP  (b) RKDF University, Bhopal, MP (c) Sunrise University, Alwar, Rajasthan (d) Manav Bharati University, Solan, Himachal, (e) Sai Nath University, Ranchi, Jharkhand etc.

Note :

(a) Any and every university must be recognized and controlled by UGC.

(b) UGC recognized university is considered valid for jobs in Govt, Pvt, MNC and abroad

(c) Student in India is advised to do a course from UGC recognized university only.

(d) You can do course from any UGC recognized university in India. Always visit UGC website and check approval of university, before joining the course.
